Devert Hickman

Devert is a Theatre Costume Designer, with a prior twenty year career with the performing
arts. He earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Fashion Design and is a graduate of the
Advanced Theatre Costume Design program at the Fashion Institute of Design and
Merchandising. He has traveled the world while performing with Cirque du Soleil, Radio
City Music Hall Rockettes, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago and Disney's, "The Lion
King". He is exceptional at his newly found craftsmanship of costume design through film,
television and stage productions. Devert possesses a quirky, yet unique vision of portraying
garments in ways that are unimaginable to the naked eye. Most recently, he was
commissioned to design costumes for the “Social Movement Company Dance”; based out of
Houston, TX. Devert holds the recognition of receiving the first “ Black Design Collective”
scholarship for notable African-American students in 2019 in honor of Oscar Winning
Costume Designer, ”Ruth E. Carter.” Devert has been accruing immaculate productions
into his experience by working on such shows as: Ryan Murphy’s Monster Anthologies
including; “Dahmer”2022 NetFlix and “The Menendez Brothers” 2024 Netflix. He is
currently working in the costume department at Hulu/ABC Disney’s “All’s Fair, starring
Kim Kardashian. Devert is over the moon to debut his designs for the premiere of “Sana”
with Giordano Dance Chicago, under the Direction of Nan Giordano and Choreography by
Emmy Award winner Al Blackstone.

Based out of West Hollywood, California, Devert is currently seeking opportunities to
create an array of costume adventures throughout the world and beyond.
